Introduction / History

In July 1911, an explorer named Hiram Bingham climbed up a steep hill and stumbled on to Machu Picchu, uncovering what had been up until that moment, the Inca's best kept secret. The Hiram Bingham train is the most luxurious way to journey between Cusco and Machu Picchu. For many visitors, the journey to Machu Picchu is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Hiram Bingham wagons are distinguished by their blue and gold colours for its warm and cozy interiors that feature elegant upholstery.

Dining / Lounge

The train has two 42-seat dining carsserving Peruvian specialties for brunch on the journey to Machu Picchu, and fordinner on the evening return to Cusco. There are tables for four and twopersons. The overall ambiance is gorgeous, with large windows, beautiful china,silver and linens. Onboard meals include Peruvian wine. Local wines and liquorsare included. Imported wines and spirits are additional. Brunch and Dinner are served on board, while Afternoon tea is served at Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge.
