Day to Day Itinerary:

Day 01: Mumbai

Upon your arrival at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus in Mumbai, the checkin formalities and registration will take place. Enjoy the regal and conventional Indian welcome followed by a refreshing drink. Settle and relax in your cabins as the Deccan Odyssey train leaves for Bijapur in Karnataka. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 02: Bijapur

Relish your delicious breakfast at the train reaches Bijapur, the land of the Sultans. Established by Kalyani Chalukyas between 10th and 11th centuries, Bijapur is a popular city in Karnataka. It is the historic capital of Sultans of Deccan. Begin with your trip to the Gol Gumbaz, a round dome like structure that celebrates Deccan architecture. It is the second largest tomb in the world and a mausoleum of Adil Shah, the Sultan of Bijapur. The key attraction of the mausoleum is the circular gallery where a even a whisper gets magnified.

Later we head to the Jumma Masjid, Malik-e-Maidan (the largest medieval canon in the world), Mehtar Mahal (a 17th century ornamental entrance to a mosque), Ibrahim Rouza (one of the Islamic monuments comprising of a 24 m high minarets). Later return to the hotel to enjoy a scrumptious lunch on the train while enjoying the beautiful landscapes passing by from your cabin. Overnight and stay onboard the train.

Day 03: Badami (Sightseeing)

In the morning, disembark the train and visit the rock-cut caves and sculpted temples in Badami. Some popular monuments include Badami Fort, Malegatti Shivalaya, The Dattatreya Temple, The Mallikarjuna Temple and the temple of Banashankari. Then return to the comforts of the train which makes its way to Hampi. Overnight dinner and stay onboard the train.

Day 04: Hampi

Today morning, have your breakfast as the train reaches Hospet. After breakfast visit the famous World Heritage Site- Hampi, well-known for its radiant constructions of ancient monuments. First you visit the most significant attraction of Hampi, the Narasimha statue. Later, you head to Mustard Ganesh, where you can see an elephant God statue. Enjoy the architectural brilliance around and take a long walk along the banks of the Tungabhadra River. After visiting Virupaksha Temple, you proceed to visit Vittala Temple, which displays the architecture of Vijayanagara Empire. Travel back to Hospet for lunch on the luxury train. Take rest and again gear yourselves to explore Royal Center at Hampi. Thereafter, you visit Queen’s Bath (ancient-royal stepped tank), Mahanavami Dibba or great platform, Hazararama Temple, Queens Enclosure along with its Lotus Mahal and the Elephant stables. After exploring these amazing sights return to the Deccan Odyssey to relax. Dinner and overnight stay onboard as Deccan Odyssey progresses for Hyderabad.

Day 05: Hyderabad

This morning Deccan Odyssey enters into the city of Nizams, Hyderabad. Post a delicious breakfast; head out to see the Golconda Fort, a symbol of Nizami culture and grandeur. It is a mud fort which became the seat of the Qutub Shahi dynasty. Then return to the comforts of the train, where in a lunch of steaming hot Biryani waits for you. Relax for while and then you can head out to splurge on shopping articles like pearls, bangles and scented perfumes called ittars. Later you can head to the Falaknuma Palace. Overnight stay and dinner onboard the train.

Day 06: Aurangabad

This morning Deccan Odyssey arrives into the Aurangabad, named after the famous Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. After breakfast, drive up to the exceptional Ellora caves. They are considered to be a fine example of cave architecture. This structure includes 34 rock-cut caves that represent Hindu, Buddhist and art that dates back to the 4th to 5th century AD. There are 12 Buddhist caves to the south, 17 Hindu caves in the center, and the 5 Jain caves to the north. The most important attraction of the caves is the Kailash temple, believed to be a replica of the heavenly abode of Lord Shiva in Mt. Kailash. After building an appetite in the morning, head to the Deccan Odyssey to savor a scrumptious lunch as you see the picturesque landscape of Maharashtra pass by.

Day 07: Ajanta Caves

As you enjoy breakfast the Deccan Odyssey arrives at Jalgaon. Disembak and drive to the Ajanta Caves, a UNESCO world heritage site. The site of Ajanta Caves consists of 30 rock-cut Buddhist caves that have been skillfully carved. All the caves depict sculptures and paintings of Buddhist religious art. Then return to the Deccan Odyssey to savor some mouth-watering lunch. Then head out to visit the Mahatma Gandhi memorial, which pays tribute to the Father of the nation. In the evening, enjoy the sunset as you experience the real beauty of rural India. Have dinner onboard the Deccan Odyssey as the train leaves for the last stop, Mumbai. Overnight stay and dinner onboard the train.

Day 08: Mumbai (Departure)

On the 8th day, you will return back to Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, where your journey comes to an end.

  • Any cancellation must be advised immediately by Email and subsequently confirmed by

  • No cancellation on cancelling 60 days prior to the departure date
  • Retention of 20% of ticket value on cancelling 59 – 45 days prior to the departure date
  • Retention of 50% of ticket Value on cancelling 44 – 30 days prior to the departure date
  • Retention of 100% of ticket value on cancelling 29 days prior to the departure date


No show/ En route termination of tour/amendment:

  • No Show - In case of No Show / Non-arrival of the guest, no refund or adjustment in future travel will be possible. The whole amount shall be treated as forfeited. 
  • En route termination of tour - In case of termination of tour by the guest, for any reasons, no refund or adjustment for future travel will be possible. The amount for unused portion of the tour shall be treated as forfeited. 
  • Amendment - Is only possible under the circumstances like Natural Disaster / Natural Calamity or Serious Health
