The Glacier Express is undoubtedly Switzerland's best known train. The 181 mile (290km) trip from Zermatt to St Moritz (and vice versa) lasts around eight hours winding its way through some of Europe's most dramatic and beautiful scenery. Whether summer or winter, the views from start to finish are breathtaking.

These morning departures give you scenic light throughout most of the journey.


Annual Break- 11 October 2026 – 4 December 2026
No Glacier Express services run on the full Zermatt–St. Moritz route in this period.
This break happens every year between the main summer and winter timetable periods.
