Crossing the Alps in the Bernina Express certainly is one of the most spectacular ways to do it. Along the way, the Bernina Express rolls over the 65-metre-high Landwasser Viaduct, the signature structure of the Rhaetian Railway and the UNESCO World Heritage site. Altogether the train passes through 55 tunnels and over 196 bridges on its way from Chur to Tirano.

The Bernina Express panoramic service on the St. Moritz to Tirano route runs in three defined periods in 2026:


Winter / Early Spring 2026

•Operates daily throughout this period.

This is the winter season service window when the Bernina Express runs scenic trains between St. Moritz and Tirano every day.


Summer 2026

2 May 2026 – 25 October 2026

•Operates daily throughout this period.

This is the high-season timetable with regular daily panoramic Bernina Express trains on the St. Moritz ? Tirano.


Late Autumn / Early Winter

26 October 2026 – 12 December 2026

•Operates daily throughout this period.

A second winter window when the scenic service returns for late autumn and early winter.
