The Hiram Bingham train is the most luxurious way to journey between Cusco and Machu Picchu. Once only accessible on foot, the Hiram Bingham is a truly relaxing way to reach Machu Picchu. Wind past soaring mountains and the crashing waters of the Urubamba River – towards the citadel discovered by the explorer from whom it takes its name. From Poroy, near the ancient city of Cusco, to the Lost City of Machu Picchu, a trip on the Hiram Bingham takes you across of the most beautiful and romantic scenery in Peru.

Dates for 2026-

From May 1 to December 31, 2026, departures will be available every day except the last Sunday of each month.

During the rainy season (January to April), the service still runs but may use a bimodal bus + train arrangement rather than a direct Poroy train departure.
