You can travel on the Eurostar all the way to the heart of the French Alps. From December to beginning March  you can hop on the Eurostar ski train at St Pancras International be whisked  to the resorts of Moûtiers, Aime-la-Plagne or Bourg-St-Maurice at 186mph with one change at Lille Europe.  You can leave London on a Saturday morning, spend a week in the Alps and return the following Sunday.
